Cross is a modular, stacking storage system inspired by shipping containers and dockyard cranes. The single module which forms a stand-alone piece of furniture, consists of two main elements, a box and ‘cross’. These elements can be connected together in four orientations, which in turn allow multiplemodules to be stacked and connected into an endless number of abstract forms. The addition of simple doors allows the user to create open, closed or partly closed storage areas.

The box element is manufactured in MDF which is then lacquered. The cross is formed of two solid wood elements which are glued together. Holes in the boxes and crosses allow elements and modules to be connected simply using hex-wrench (allen key) bolts and joint connectors. The doors are created from a fabric-covered spring steel frame. Slots on the inside of the box allow the door to spring into place.
